Warm Up Recipe - Apple Crumble

 
Apple Crumble
 
Ingredients:
 
Apple Filling:
6 Large Apples (10 Garden Apples) peeled and roughly chopped
2 table spoons flour
4 table spoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons Orange Juice
½ teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
 
Topping:
½ cup Brown Sugar
1 cup old fashioned oats
½ cup Flour
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon baking powder
12 tablespoons cold butter (cubed)
½ teaspoon nutmeg
 
 
Instructions:
 
Preheat oven 350 degrees. Prepare a 11x7" baking dish with butter
 
In a large bowl mix together the apple filling ingredients.
 
Toss together and transfer to the prepared dish.
 
In a medium bowl add the brown sugar, old fashioned oats, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder and butter. Blending the ingredients together with your hands, fork or pastry blender until it is pea-sized and crumbly.
 
Spread topping over the apples and gently pat down.
 
Place in the oven and bake for 45-60min or until it becomes brown and bubbly.
 
Let cool slightly before serving.
