The Delish Ultimate Cocktails book can help you with traditional takes on most of these drinks, and also have lots of fun twists that you will want to experiment with.

One drink that has captured our attention today is the Negroni, as Delish has a really fun recipe that we just have to try out this May Long!

Negroni's originated in Italy, and are traditionally composed of gin, sweet vermouth and Campari. You can use your favourite gin or if you are looking at a non-alcoholic version, we carry Cedar's Classic that will provide you with all the flavour and none of the alcohol for a mocktail version.

So back to the fun version - Delish Ultimate has a unique perspective on this classic drink!

We are hoping for a sun-filled May Long, and in anticipation of that are going to prepare the classic Negraoni as a Jell-O shot for a fun take on the drink. Yes! Finish it off with an orange peel and you will achieve that classic negroni touch.

This recipe is going to set you up with 18 servings, take about 10 minutes to prep and needs three and a half hours total time.

3 c. lemon lime soda
4 (0.25-oz.) envelopes unflavored gelatin
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. gin
1/4 c. campari
1/4 c. vermouth
1/4 c. orange juice
Cooking spray
1/2 c. sanding sugar, for rolling
Orange zest, for garnish

  1. In a small saucepan, add lemon lime soda and sprinkle over gelatin. Let bloom, 2 minutes. Turn heat to medium and whisk until gelatin is dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, Campari, gin, vermouth, and orange juice.
  2. Lightly grease a 9-x-5" loaf pan with cooking spray and pour in gelatin mixture. Chill until firm, at least 3 hours.

  3. Turn out gelatin mixture onto a piece of parchment paper and slice into squares. Sprinkle with sugar and garnish with orange zest before serving.
